An 18th century portrait of a redcoat officer, possibly an Irish redcoat officer who were integral to the British Army from the 18th century onwards. Oil on card. Dublin artist supplier stamp verso.
The portrait has a book to the foreground and the sitter is pointing out to his left.
The work has a small scratch to the central left just above the shoulder, and paint loss to the top edge where the work has been historically folded over to fit the frame.
An interesting portrait of a good proportions.
