A fantastic 19th century bronze wax seal in the form of a monkey, complete with original desk stand.
The monkey is of unusual form, holding a ball in its right hand and poised as if about to throw bowls. The casting is of excellent quality with superb detail. The seal retains its original simulated marble stand (likely alabaster), and one would not know the piece is anything more than a desk ornament of cabinet bronze until the monkey is lifted. The stand is inset with bronze where the seal perfectly sits. The wax stamp initials are 'O.K.'.
