18mo. Fully bound in red leather with five raised bands to the spine and gilt stamped title. Blind stamped borders to the boards. All page edges gilt. Some light signs of shelf wear but generally the exterior is in a very good condition throughout.
Marbled endpapers. Sticker for Adam Holder Booksellers of Liverpool to the front pastedown. Pencil inscriptions to the front flyleaf, a gift inscription and notes as to the printing hallmarks of the a first edition of this work. All pages remain bright.
Synopsis
After a full life as a knight, Sir Percivale retires to an abbey near Camelot and becomes a monk. Shortly afterward, he dies. Ambrosius, one of the other monks, had become his friend, and during the last days of his life, Percivale told his companion about the vision of the Holy Grail that had changed his life and finally caused him to leave the Round Table for a life of austerity and prayer.
