A Regency period red-painted toleware ware tray of large proportions with central portrait, c.1830.
The central portrait depicts a lady gazing into the distance, holding her dog in the crook of her arm with what looks to be a horse whip in hand, before a background of trees. The whole being surrounded by a gilt painted border.
There are some scuffs and scratches commensurate with age but overall the tray remains in a remarkably good condition throughout.
The scale of this piece makes it an ideal centre piece for the ottoman, sideboard or dining table.
